Sandra C. Barbosu

Hello! I am a researcher specializing in the economics of science and innovation. I am particularly interested in the implications of emerging technologies, such as AI and next-generation sequencing, in the context of health care and precision medicine.

I am an Associate Director at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF)'s Center for Life Sciences Innovation, where I conduct research to inform policymaking on how different factors impact life sciences innovation.

I also teach about digital platforms at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering. I was previously a Program Officer in Economics at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

I hold a PhD in Strategic Management from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, an MSc in Precision Medicine from the University of Oxford, and a BA in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Rochester.
